OrthoGrid® Systems, Inc. Announces the Launch of HipGrid DRONE™, a non-invasive Fluoroscopic Guide for Total Hip Replacement (THR)

SALT LAKE CITYOct. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Since the launch of HipGrid® 12 months ago, orthopedic surgeons have used the HipGrid® technology with great success. The simplicity and intuitive nature of that clinically proven technique addresses proper implant positioning and leg length inequality. Based upon surgeon feedback, OrthoGrid® is now introducing an exciting second generation product — the HipGrid Drone™, an intraoperative radiographic alignment system.

HipGrid Drone™ is a reusable, non-sterile device, specifically conceived to combine improvements in ease of use and surgical technique reproducibility for the surgical team. In addition, it is offered through an innovative pricing model that maximizes cost reduction opportunities by incentivizing administrative expense reductions.

This is not simply a new product,” says Edouard Saget, Co-Founder of OrthoGrid® Systems, Inc., “it is the transformation into a complete system of what our surgeons are already calling an elegant and simple solution.”

Richard Boddington, Co-Founder of OrthoGrid® Systems, Inc. who oversaw the HipGrid Drone’s™ research and development adds: “It is easy to learn, effortlessly adopted by any operating room and remarkably cost efficient. Simply put, our products allow surgeons to perform their best in surgery. Patients only want the best  outcomes possible.”

Since its inception, OrthoGrid® has succeeded in revealing data hidden within an intraoperative x-ray that cannot be accurately seen with the naked eye. Prior to the HipGrid® technology, surgeons around the world were without a good option to access all of the data available via an intraoperative x-ray.

Mr. Boddington adds: “That is the driving force behind our extensive trial period for the new HipGrid Drone™. After years of observing this technology at work, we are confident that any surgeon trialing the new HipGrid Drone™ will discover new information that enhances the quality of intraoperative assessment of key elements of total hip surgery. This technology is valuable to physician and patient alike because it eliminates as much guesswork and judgment as possible from the surgical procedure. We strongly believe HipGrid Drone™ is the most reproducible and cost effective solution to achieve quality outcomes on a routine basis. OrthoGrid has succeeded in bringing a maximum value proposition to this specific segment of the orthopedic industry.”

OrthoGrid will officially introduce the HipGrid Drone™ during the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeon (AAHKS) meeting in Dallas, TX November 5th thru the 8th, and is scheduled for full commercial release in the fourth quarter of 2015.
