Knoxville, Tenn. – April 28, 2015 – Marked by the consistent launch of innovative products and the growth of its service-focused distribution network, ChoiceSpine’s initial ten years of business have been filled with industry-changing breakthroughs, resulting in better quality outcomes in surgical patients around the globe.
“We’re proud of the work we continue to do as a company and attribute our success and continued growth to our people, the spinal industry, and the surgeons who trust us to deliver effective products that will make their jobs simpler,” said ChoiceSpine co-principal, Marty Altshuler. “Most importantly, we have maintained a daily focus on developing technologies and products that will ultimately provide more peace of mind for the patients.”
To celebrate this ten year anniversary, ChoiceSpine will be introducing the ChoiceSpine Spinal Surgery Excellence Award later this year. This award will be presented to individuals who have made significant contributions to the spinal surgery industry.
Recently, the Knoxville-based spinal implant company received FDA 510(k) clearance for the release of TOMCAT™, the industry’s first Hydroxyapatite infused stand-alone cervical device. The modular functionality and adaptable design of TOMCAT™ provides surgeons with one device that can be used across a range of different procedural styles.
“Following the release of TOMCAT™, we now feature 13 innovative and proprietary products, designed to improve patient outcomes,” said ChoiceSpine co-principal, Rick Henson.
ChoiceSpine also recently received CE Marking for its VEO™ Lateral Interbody Fusion System, allowing the company to distribute the product internationally. The VEO™ Lateral System brings clear and direct visualization to lateral fusion surgery and is intended to let surgeons focus on the patient, not the product.
The company was founded in April of 2006 and includes a management team with more than 85 years of industry experience in the areas of research and development, engineering and manufacturing, distribution and sales, financial management and administration. The co-founders, Rick Henson and Marty Altshuler, have more than 20 years of healthcare experience with extensive knowledge of the orthopedic and spinal markets.
As part of its anniversary year, the company recently introduced a new-look website reflective of its constantly evolving and innovative culture – www.choicespine.net.
