Louisville, Kentucky-based Kindred Healthcare Inc. (NYSE: KND) has opened a $20 million transitional care facility in downtown Phoenix.
Called Kindred Transitional Care — Phoenix, the 120-bed facility is Kindred’s third inpatient facility serving the Phoenix area, bridging the gap between hospital and home.
The three-story, 79,500-square-foot transitional care center includes bariatric rooms with customized beds, lifts and devices to safely move patients. It also has three therapy gyms and specialized equipment, including the Anti-Gravity Treadmill, an advanced physical therapy rehabilitation machine for patients recovering from lower body injuries, chronic pain or neurological conditions.
