Mitek Sports Medicine recently introduced the VAPR Tripolar 90 and VAPR Arctic suction electrodes at the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine Annual Meeting.
Both electrodes are handheld devices designed to enhance performance, efficiency and patient safety. They are also both compatible with the company’s VAPR Vue radiofrequency electrode system, according to a company press release.
Indicated for use in shoulder arthroscopy, the VAPR Tripolar 90 is the first radiofrequency device with a proprietary tip designed to optimize ablation and coagulation performance. Additionally, it incorporates integrated suction-flow control. The VAPR Arctic is indicated for use during hip arthroscopy and has up to 110° flexion. It is the first radiofrequency device combining bipolar energy flow, integrated suction and tip articulation, according to the release.
“The VAPR Arctic and VAPR Tripolar 90 electrodes for arthroscopy are the latest examples of our continued commitment to meaningful innovation that delivers value to health care providers, patients and hospital customers,” Max Reinhardt, franchise unit leader for joint reconstruction, Mitek Sports Medicine and Power Tools, said in the release. “Our expanding and comprehensive arthroscopy portfolio offers our customers a single source solution for access, visualization, resection and repair.”
