Chandler, Ariz.– The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) today announced that Kiem Ho, formerly of Henkel North America, has been named vice president of marketing. In his new leadership role, Ho is responsible for the development and execution of national marketing initiatives across communication channels, playing an instrumental role in the expansion of the NASM brand.
“The health and fitness industry, as well as society, is facing new challenges today,” said Ho. “As a leader in this industry, it’s our responsibility to continue developing solutions by being consumer centric in everything we do. We must ensure that we have an in-depth understanding of the wants and needs of trainers and fitness professionals to equip them with leading-edge content and tools to affect positive change for their clients.”
Skilled in branding, traditional and digital marketing, Ho brings 20 years of sales and advertising expertise to his position. A substantial part of his career was spent in marketing with Procter and Gamble, Campbell Soup Company and most recently with Henkel, one of the global leaders in the consumer product goods industry. At Henkel, Ho served as vice president of marketing and innovation in the laundry and home care unit. Previously, he oversaw business development and innovation, as well as international laundry and homecare divisions in Western Europe and Canada.
“Kiem has a proven track record. His impressive background in branding and marketing is critical in his role as NASM positions itself for future growth,” said Andrew Wyant, president of NASM. “He will be a tremendous asset as we continue to advance the Certified Personal Training (CPT) profession, and the health and fitness industry overall.”
Ho is actively involved in the local community, having served on the Scottsdale Leadership Board and Family Promise Homeless/Pet Shelter board. He currently volunteers his time as a youth coach. As a passionate sports enthusiast and former BYU men’s soccer athlete, he looks forward to blending his personal and professional interests in his new role.
Prior to joining NASM, Ho owned his own business, HO5 Marketing; specializing in digital marketing, lead generation and social media management. He graduated from the University of Texas with his MBA in marketing and completed his undergrad at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
