For the past several weeks we have been hearing that a Stryker bid for Smith and Nephew was imminent. It looks as though it is becoming even more so as Stryker has apparently announced through an internal email that they will be laying off approximately 80 people.
It is not immediately clear what roles were affected or if those in the positions that will be eliminated have been told yet or if this was an announcement in advance of the Reduction in Force.
